Amanda Todd/Bullying

I haven't blogged in awhile because I wasn't really sure what to blog about...I'm pretty much under a microscope these days. (Meaning I can't say or do anything without someone twisting it and feeding some bullshit story to my husband...Speaking of which, did you know he's going to try and use SONG LYRICS against me in court. el oh el..people suck.)

Speaking of people sucking (no, I'm not talking about porn. Shame on you.)

Amanda Todd? Ever heard of her? I hadn't. Not until she died.

Here's her story (or what I know of it anyway).

She was 15(ish) years old. In the 7th grade she was persuaded to flash her breasts on the webcam. She was later blackmailed and told that if she did not "put on a show", the pictures of her breasts would be sent out to everyone....and they were. She was constantly bullied, online and offline. She posted a video on youtube about a month ago. It was her cry for help.

I'm struggling to stay in this world, because everything just touches me so deeply. I'm not doing this for attention. I'm doing this to be an inspiration and to show that I can be strong. I did things to myself to make pain go away, because I'd rather hurt myself then someone else. Haters are haters but please don't hate, although im sure I'll get them. I hope I can show you guys that everyone has a story, and everyones future will be bright one day, you just gotta pull through. I'm still here aren't I ?

On Wednesday, she took her life. Now, why am I posting about this? Because apparently, even after her death the bullying didn't stop. There are "like" pages on Facebook dedicated to her, such as this one. On it, along with the others, you will find hatred everywhere. Comments about how she "brought it on herself" and memes mocking her. Not only is this extremely disrespectful, but it's incredibly disgusting.

My opinion:
Maybe she brought it on herself. Maybe she didn't. But who really knows. Who was actually there? How many of these sickening excuses for people actually knew her? Probably none. Which would mean that they have NO idea what she was going through or what her life was like, and I think that means they don't have any authority to decided whether she "deserved what she got".  In all honesty, it doesn't matter whether she "brought it on herself" or not. A life is a life regardless. So, she made some mistakes. EVERYONE does. No one is excluded from that. So, next time you want to make fun of other people's mistakes you'd better make sure you're fucking perfect first! (And saying these nasty things about someone who is no longer here to defend herself is beyond low. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.)
